4th of July Inspiration

I was browsing on the DorothyPerkins.com today I discovered a ton of cute red, white and blue pieces that would be festive for the 4th of July! Dorothy Perkins has a lot of lovely pieces.

I'm headed over to my parent's tomorrow for a BBQ so I thought I would share the recipes for a dessert and salad that I am bringing.
For dessert I am going to try something I've never made before: "Easy Lemon Berry Pie" from "Coordinately Yours" Blog by Julie Banner. I'll let you know how they turn out--I hope they look as pretty as this picture!

For the salad I am making my own homemade coleslaw. I just dice up cabbage, onions and peppers and then make a dressing. I don't really measure anything, I just eyeball it.
The ingredients are:
Plain Greek Yogurt (about a cup or 2)
Apple Cider Vinegar (1-2 tablespoons)
A squirt of Dijon mustard
A dash of salt & pepper
About 1/2 cup of sugar (or 2 tablespoons of honey if you want to be healthier)
Honestly I just mix the ingredients and then taste it to see what it needs more of.
Mix up the dressing in a separate bowl and then add it to the cabbage mix and then toss it all up!
My husband doesn't really like coleslaw and he likes this recipe!

What are your plans for the 4th? Are you making any yummy treats?
Happy Thursday!
