Las Vegas Vacation: Shopping and Gordon Ramsey Pub & Grill

On our second full day in Vegas...
I really wanted to have lunch at the Beer Garden in Unami Burger at the SLS--it's outside, and look how cool it is! I love the antler chandeliers.
Unfortunately, it wasn't open...not sure if it opens later in the evening or if it was just too windy.
So instead, we ate inside, and it wasn't quite as cool.
Joel had the unami burger and sweet potato fries. I had the beef barbacoa nachos and a margarita.
After lunch, we walk across the street to take a look at "the world's largest souvenir shop".
It could be called the worlds most expensive junk shop. It's really not that cool, although we did purchase a bottle opener and a magnet.
The lights of the store look awesome at night though!
After that little outing, we just relaxed until our evening outing.
What I wore: Romper: Target// Shoes: Target
Ready for our night out!
We had reservations at Gordon Ramsey's Pub and Grill at Caesars Palace, so we went early and did some shopping...mostly window shopping. The displays in some of the stores are so over the top!

After years of watching Hell's Kitchen, Joel finally made it to a Gordon Ramsey restaurant.

He had chicken curry, and I had Shepard's Pie and a "God Save the Queen" cocktail.
To be honest, it wasn't really that amazing for all the hype and the price of the dishes, but we had a nice time talking and people watching as our seat looked out into the casino.
After dinner, we walked over to the Bellagio Fountains to see the show, but after waiting in the cold for 20 minutes, they announced they were cancelled because of the wind. Boo. So we walked over the the Flamingo and discovered that they actually have real Flamingos!
We wrapped up our night in the LINQ promenade area with a cupcake sundae from Sprinkles Cupcakes. Red velvet cupcake with mocha almond fudge ice cream. Yum!

Las Vegas Vacation: Sequins, Cirque de Soleil Beatles Love and a bar in a Chandelier!

Get ready for sequin overload...you've been warned.
This was the view we had from our room. We even saw a couple of people do the jump off of the top of the Stratosphere and we could see the ride on the very top going up and down. We didn't really do much our first full day, we walked to McDonald's for breakfast, got some things at Walgreens and spent most of the day relaxing and researching where we should go to dinner.
We ended up grabbing a great happy hour at the sushi place in our hotel "Katsuya".
We shared: Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, a California roll, and a spicy tuna roll. I also had a watermelon cucumber mojito. All delicious! Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of our beautiful sushi, hence the empty trays.
Next we got glammed up (well, I did) to go see the Cirque de Soleil Beatles Love show at the Mirage. I have dreamed of seeing this show ever since I first heard about it!
What I wore // Dress: ASOS // Shoes: Target
Ready for a night on the town!
P.S. I only saw like 4 other people wearing sequin dresses during our entire trip. Las Vegas Tourists: step up your game!!!
We did spend some time in the casino at the Mirage after picking up our tickets and waiting for the show to start. The line to get in to the show once the doors opened was so long!

Inside the theatre.
They shot confetti out on us!
After the show was over. It was so colorful and there were so many cool acrobatic stunts and ariel work, and dancing. A feast for the eyes, and obviously the music was amazing.
 All you need is love.
 I got that ;)
To end our night we went to the Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan. This was another dream of mine! A bar inside a chandelier?? Sigh. Unfortunately, the Cosmopolitan looked a lot closer to the Mirage than it actually was, and by that point in the night, I was tired and my cough was starting to act up, so we didn't even get a drink or explore. We snapped some pictures and then grabbed a cab back to our hotel! It was worth the walk though to finally see the beautiful Chandelier Bar & be told by some random homeless guy that I was beautiful :)
Las Vegas, a sparkle and glitz lovers dream!

Las Vegas Vacation: Staying at the SLS Hotel

Despite Joel & I both getting over illness and being absolutely tired, we had already booked a vacation to Las Vegas for Spring Break...so off we went!
Anyone from Oregon, knows that this type of picture is a must when at the airport.
We took a late flight, and didn't leave Portland until 8 PM, then had to fly to Seattle, switch planes and then fly to Vegas. This was the view out my window before taking off from Portland. Needless to say, you can see why we wanted to get out of Oregon for Spring Break!
We arrived to the SLS very late--the taxi ride from the airport was a little scary! I wish I had taken a picture of the entrance to the casino--I can't find any, but it has a light up floor that changes colors!
I love all of the decor! Chandeliers and mirrors--my favorite :)
Right across from the front desk is the coolest bar-- the "Monkey Bar". I was hoping to grab a drink there during our stay, but we slept too much! I just snapped a couple details and the shot above I borrowed from instagram.

Check in was super quick, and then this magnificent wall of mirrors and lights greeted us at our elevator entrance!! I was in heaven to get to walk through this every time we went to and from our room!
I didn't get a snap of our room when it was still pristine so I borrowed this one from thethrillest website. Loved it!
When we finally got settled into our room it was around 1 am. We were so tired and out of it!!
Stay tuned for more!
