A Christmas Wedding

Today is my 3 year wedding anniversary! Everyone always says that the first few years of marriage are the hardest, but I have to say this past 3 years has been a blast! Yes, we have had our ups and downs, but I have never felt like being married and committed was hard work. I am so blessed to be married to Joel and I am looking forward to celebrating anniversaries for many years to come.
This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding. Walking down the isle after being announced man and wife. We had my high school choir sing at our wedding and they sang "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" as we walked down the isle.
I plan to post more pictures of my wedding. When I was planning, I didn't feel like there was much inspiration for Christmas/Winter weddings, especially on a budget! So hopefully sharing my wedding will give someone else ideas!

This December is flying by fast!
Happy Thursday!

Christmas Tree Lighting

Every year my husband and I get our picture taken at the WOU tree lighting. 4 years ago, he proposed to me here right before the tree lit up. We try to go every year and take a picture. This year it was a little rushed, however, because the pac12 championship game with the Ducks was on :P
Last year's picture--there was snow last year!
This was right before we got married. We missed a picture for our 1st year of marriage. It was a busy year :)
The infamous proposal. This probably one of my favorite pictures ever. Joel planned it out so that my cousin was there to take pictures.
This was our very first picture taken in front of the tree :)
Happy Thursday everyone!

Christmas Crafts with Family

This past weekend we had a Christmas gathering at my Aunt & Uncle's house and a bunch of us ladies got to do some Christmas Crafting. We made paper Christmas ornaments inspired by this pin my cousin found. They were really easy to make--cut the shapes, fold in half, and glue together!
The first one I made was OSU Beaver colors, of course...

So my husband said I had to make a duck colored one too :(
My Aunt made this Christmas tree one, and I loved it so much she let me have it. She also gave me the ones below. She's really creative!

Our crafty bunch! Love them :) I had so much fun visiting in my Aunt's festively decorated house with all these lovely ladies!

Happy Tuesday!

My Christmas Tree!

December is a very busy and exciting month in my household. It's the month we got engaged and married in; it's the month of my husband's birthday, countless Christmas parties, and Christmas of course!
I had grandiose ideas of goint to cut down our own Christmas tree at the local tree farm and getting the perfect beautiful picture for a Christmas card. After a couple failed attempts at going to get the tree (rain, and last minute family plans) we gave up and just went and got a pre-cut one in town. It took me about 5 days to get it completely decotated, and I just finished last night. I really don't want to go to school today. I just want to sit in my livingroom and enjoy looking at my beautiful tree.
I did manage to get most of this mess cleaned up last night, but this picture represents what the month of December is for us: Busy & Chaotic, but full of good things :) Hopefully I manage to organize myself enough to share some of those good things on this blog ;)

Happy Monday Everyone!

Wednesday Wisdom: Martin Luther King Jr.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that".
 ~Martin Luther King Jr.

An appropriate quote for today's world.
Happy Wednesday, spread some love today :)

Monday Morning: Civil War Woes, Flashing back to Happier Times for the Beavers!

Well, we may have lost the Civil War, but here's a flashback to happier times when we beat the Arizona Sun Devils!
My mom & I got to go to the game together. It was a late night game, and it was FREEZING! But it was so much fun. We got to see the marching band play up close before the game started.
The marching band even played inside the bookstore when we were in there!
Decked out & bundled up in our beaver gear!
It was rough to sit through the cold, but with all of the excitement in the second half we warmed right up!

Final score of the game: 35-27!!
Pretty much the entire stadium stormed the field!
Of course we had to stay super late to see Coach Mike Riley's radio interview after the game.
My dad and my brother were at the game also, sitting else where, so we had to take a family picture to document the celebratory night. Go Beavs!

Oh & Happy Monday :)

Fashion Friday: Thanksgiving Style

I always have Thanksgiving with all of my cousins and aunts and uncles on my Dad's side of the family. We have always rented our church for the occasion because nobody has a house big enough to hold everyone! As we are all getting older it's getting harder and harder to get together all the time, but Thanksgiving is the one time that we are all there!
What I wore: Dress: Target // Blouse: Kohls // Cardigan: Target // Tights: Target //
Shoes: Payless (old) // Necklace: Bauble Bar

My family dresses pretty casual for Thanksgiving, but I always have to use any excuse to dress up :)
I love this necklace from Bauble Bar. I had been eying it for a long time, and then they sold out! So when it came back in stock I had to get it. It was a little on the spendy side for me, but I had some points stored up from previous purchases so I scored it for cheaper.
After we eat, we always bust out some games. Mexican Train Dominoes is a must.
I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving!
I'm glad that Christmas music is finally on the radio!
