Wednesday Wisdom

Sorry everyone! Busy week with my team at dance camp and I had Zumba this morning and about to head off to dance camp again! All I have to say about this one is that YOU MATTER! Your drop in the ocean is needed so don't give up! Keep doing your thing :)

Happy Wednesday!

Lincoln City Beach Trip

I talked my husband into going to the beach for a day this past weekend. We went to Lincoln City and the weather was beautiful!
We ate lunch at the famous "Mo's" and afterward walked down onto the beach. There were tons of seals lying on the beach just across the small channel! I have never seen seals this close up before outside of an aquarium!
They kept popping their heads up out of the water and floated there for a bit. It was almost like they were enjoying watching all of the people on the beach just as much as the people enjoyed watching them!

Me & the hubs :) It was really windy out--when the wind was blowing it was chilly but the sun was so bright it was still hot out when the wind stopped.
What I wore: Shirt: Old Navy // Shorts: Old Navy (old) similar // necklace: birthday gift from hubs, same one here //
We just sat & napped on the beach and watched all the different things happening. There was a guy Parasailing--is that what you call it?
 Toes in the sand

Napping!

We got ice cream before going home at this super cute little shop.

I think mermaids are real.

Glorious Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream!

So here's where I share my story about white shirts & spilling. A few years ago before Joel & I were married we went to Lincoln City for the day & I wore I white shirt and I spilled coffee on it when we got there. So we had to go to the outlet stores so I could buy a new shirt. Then the next weekend I wore a white shirt to church and I spilled coffee on it on the way there. So we have a rule that if I where white I'm supposed to bring an extra top haha. I thought I was so prepared because I brought my "Tide-to-go" pen, but this spill was beyond that. I was so proud of myself because I hadn't spilled all day and I was almost done with my ice cream, but I didn't say anything out loud because I was worried about jinxing it. Well I guess just thinking it jinxed me because the ice cream started to melt and I spilled on my white shirt!
Oh well, at least we were on our way home when it it happened! Next time we go to the beach I am NOT wearing white!! Or maybe I just shouldn't drink coffee & eat ice cream? It was Karma for eating calories I shouldn't have!
Happy Monday all!

Fashion Friday

Strawberry Tee: Old Navy // shorts: Target (similar)  //
If you read this previous post, then you understand my slight obsessions with strawberries. So when I saw this tee in the little girls section at Old Navy I had to get it! You can't tell in the pictures but the strawberry actually has glitter on it--woah! Strawberries AND glitter?! Love!

Ha, my mom was my photographer and she said my hair looked better not pulled back--good call mom!

You can kind of see the glitter in this picture. This picture shows the color a little better. The pink is really bright! It's a lot of fun and I definitely feel more "summery" when I wear it.

I also got a much needed hair update yesterday! I decided to go back to a more natural blonde and I went a little shorter again. Thank you to my beautiful friend KaryAnn (also in my previous strawberry post!) :)

I love it! The color turned out gorgeous!
Well I'm off to the beach with my hubby in a bit,
Have a great weekend!

Wednesday Wisdom

This is my 100th post!
And I'm posting really late today--sorry!
I painted the Lion above in High School and my inspiration behind the painting was Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia series.
"You doubt your value. Don't run from who you are."
Aslan says this to Lucy in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader when she wishes she was her sister Lucy and almost wishes herself away.
Wherever you are in life right now, don't ever wish yourself away. Do not doubt your value. YOU are valuable. You have something to offer. You might not think that you have any special talents or uniqueness, but God created you to be you for a reason. It might even be just so that one day you smile and say hi to a stranger, and that smile gives them hope to keep going. We will never know until we are no longer on this earth. Don't run from who you are!

I hope you had a fabulous Wednesday :)

Artist Spotlight: Katie Daisy

Today I want to put a spotlight on one of my favorite artists: Katie Daisy.
I honestly love every single one of her paintings and I wish I could buy them all. It was hard to pick favorites to share on my blog because they are all so lovely and colorful. I love how she interprets nature and that some of her paintings are Oregon inspired. They are just gorgeous. To check out the rest of her artwork you can go to here Etsy shop here.

Camping

The past few days my husband I camped at yellowbottom camp site. For those of you in Oregon is about 24 miles outside of Sweet Home up past Green Peter Reservoir. My family used to go swim & picnic there for day trips when I was young, but we haven't been in more than 10 years. I love camping because I love being out in nature and I especially love the mountains in the summer.
One of my absolute favorite things to do is to sit around a camp fire with good friends and family. I'm sorry I didn't take many photos on our camping trip because I was too busy enjoying myself!
I snapped these pictures right before we left and the weather wasn't great on our last day. But we spent a lot of time floating in the gorgeous sun out on the water. There are some deep areas for swimming but in most of the places it stays shallow enough that you can touch.

One day we floated down river quite a ways and we finally got to a point to stop because the rapids were picking up and Joel fell out of his floaty & had to go chase it, but he didn't notice that he lost his travel mug too! I couldn't get to it in time. So somewhere in the Santiam river there a travel mug full of wine that belongs to us, haha!
This is our "end of the trip" selfie. On our last day we woke up to rain and a thunder and lightening storm. So we woke up WAY earlier than planned and started packing up. We look just a little tired, ya think? We did still get one last camp fire so we could boil water for coffee before we took off.
I love camping! I wish we could go again soon! I'm already planning ahead for next year :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!
Happy Monday :)

Favorites

Sorry this is a last minute post! I thought I would share a couple of my favorite things right now before I head off for the weekend!
green tee // striped tee // navy tee
These vintage v-neck Tees from old Navy are great! They are really soft and and they come in a variety of colors and I wear mine to work out in and just for a casual look. They are also a decent price!
Love this color, love the smell and love how soft it feels on my lips.

And I know I've posted this before but this time I really am off to the Mountains. Camping here I come!

Have a great weekend!
Happy Thursday :)

Wednesday Wisdom

This quote from Disney's Mulan is one of my favorite quotes. For anyone who is going through a hard time right now, remember that the tough times are what help to make us who we are. If you keep your head up and stay optimistic that better times are coming, you will be a stronger person when you get through it. Of course you can always pretend you are a Disney Princess as well--I don't think that there is a single Disney Princess that doesn't go through some hardship on her way to becoming the princess ;)

Keep your head up & Bloom in adversity.
Happy Wednesday :)
