The Band Perry at Spirit Mountain Casino

Joel surprised me with The Band Perry Tickets for Valentines Day this year.
So last Friday, after school, I got dressed up and off we went to Spirit Mountain Casino.
Their lights were super cool! It was such a fun show! Joel & I have been digging The Band Perry since we first saw them at the Oregon Jamboree about 7 or so years ago!
We were pretty much at the very back, but it was a pretty small venue, so it wasn't bad at all!
We got down to "Fat Bottom Girls" and "Live Forever" as well as some other favorites, and the ladies behind us were a hoot!
And excuse to get dressed up! I've been dying to wear this beaded fringe necklace with my fringe booties!
Such a fun date night!
Thank you Joel :)
We hope to see you again Band Perry!

Valentine's Day Date 2016: Zoolander 2 and More!

Joel bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day, and a pina colada scented candle, to get me dreaming of summer :) (PS he doesn't like coconut, so that was a sacrifice for him)
They are so pretty! He also surprised me later in the week with tickets to see The Band Perry!
I always make Joel a grasshopper pie for Valentine's Day, ever since our first Valentine's Day.
It's his favorite dessert.
I had fun getting a little dressed up for brunch and a movie. We went to see Zoolander 2.
Dress: Target // Pendant Necklace: 1st Anniversary Gift // Booties: ASOS

"Blue Steel'n" it up! Cyrus Arnold liked our Instagram pic--he's the actor that played Zoolander's son :)

Celebrating Our 4 Year Anniversary

Joel & I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary this past December.
To celebrate, we tried out a new restaurant in downtown Salem, called "Davinci's Ristorante".
I was a little nervous because we had never been before,
and Salem isn't exactly a mecca of fine dining, but I was very pleased with our choice!
I stole this pick from someone else, but isn't this bar gorgeous? We had a reservation, but we arrived a little early, so we had a drink at the bar before being seated. There was a live pianist playing Christmas music, pretty chandeliers, and candlelight .
It was a very cozy and romantic atmosphere.
We were seated upstairs. This was my partial view from our table.
"It's a Wonderful Life" was playing silently on a large sheet next to us.
I was too embarrassed to ask someone to take a picture of us & to use my flash, so these aren't the best pictures, but you can see the pretty lighting in the background! We were served complimentary flat bread with olive oil.
Joel had a steak, and I had the lobster risotto. Both were delicious!
To finish the night, we shared a creme brulee. It was actually the first time I've ever had it! Oh my goodness it was divine! This is kind of a silly comparison, but, you know how Disneyland smells? Like baking sugar, waffle cones & all things wonderful?
Well this creme brulee tasted like Disneyland :)
After a attending a couple of Christmas parties, we got away to the coast for a couple of nights to relax and celebrate our anniversary more. It was quite stormy, but we still walked every where from our hotel. We just bundled up in our rain coats :)
We watched Christmas movies, ate some good food, walked down the board walk, did some last minute Christmas shopping and relaxed. Oh, and Joel gave me an early Christmas present to snuggle with! A lovely "doe" blanket from Nordstrom. I was so surprised! It is so soft, I love it.
I think this makes up for doing pretty much nothing to celebrate last year!
Oh how I love him :) It's been a great 4 years!

Valentines Day Date Night

My hubs & I wanted to go out somewhere special for Valentines Day, but like I mentioned in an earlier post, everywhere we called into was already full! When I got home from the dance competition, my hubby called in to a local place to check if they had any cancellations, and they did! He called at 4 and the opening was for 5 so we kinda had to skedaddle to get ready, but luckily it is close by so we were not too rushed.
The floral kimono I'm wore is actually something I bought to wear for Valentines Day last year but I decided I didn't have the right outfit to pull it off so I wore something else. I'm glad I finally figured out how to wear it this year!
What I wore: Kimono: Forever21 (old) // Dress: Target (old) // Belt: Betsy Johnson from Marshals (old) // Heels: Christian Siriano for Payless (old) // Clutch: Target (new!) //
Car selfies, ha. The sun was setting so the light was hitting me in weird ways. I originally put on MAC "snob" lipstick, but I felt it was a little too pale of a pink so I added a rose colored Loreal lipstick over the top. I'm wearing MAC eyeshadow from a travel palette I bought last year. The base color is "bordello", the highlight color is "skimp" and the crease is "lost" . The sunlight threw off the true colors a bit, but "bordello" is a mauve-y pink color, and the "lost" is kind of a purple-y brown color.

The restaurant we ate at is called "Latitude One". It's in a very small but cute down town area.

I loved the decor of the restaurant. My husband and I both love the old exposed brick and I LOVED all of the pretty mirrors they had hanging on the wall.
I love twinkling lights and this handsome guy :)
Just another little nook.
I decided to go outside my box and I ordered a pomegranate martini, it was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was still yummy.
We had a four course meal starting with cheese, bread and fruit, then we both had lobster bisque with a little bit of caviar, the main course was a pork but (it was delicious) and we finished with a special Valentines dessert to share.
Adorable.
I love him.
My husband bought me pretty roses for the Valentines day and we finished the night at home with wine and the NBA all star game (or maybe it was the skills challenge, I don't remember, we watched both this weekend, haha!)
I bought this wine at Cost Plus World Market around Christmas time because I thought the labeling was pretty. I decided Valentines Day was an appropriate time to bust it out.
Finishing off this post with my Valentines tradition. Ever since our first Valentines Day together, I make Joel his favorite dessert, Grasshopper pie. I never really follow one recipe, so it's a little different every year, that's part of the surprise ;) This year we already had dessert at dinner so we saved for later. I get to have one piece, and then I save the rest for him since it's his gift--it was so good!

I hope you all had a splendid Valentines/Galentines/President's Day weekend!
Back to the grind! Happy Tuesday :)
